Lorna Morck: Lorna’s artwork is influenced by the natural environment plus her inner thoughts and self philosophizing. Textural contrast and visual layering appeal to her strongly. Lines appear more often than curves. Textile and paper form the basis; dyes, paint, and ink provide color; thread and adhesive hold it together. Hand stitching may dress the surface. She strives for simplicity combined with subtle complexities that are intentional so that the viewer can see, and then see even more.
Christy Renken: Christy considers herself a mixed media artist attracted to using recycled items, scraps, and bits of almost anything that comes to hand. Fabric, handmade papers, thread, and beads are mixed with paint, glue, and wire. Sometimes the work is two dimensional and sometimes it demands three dimensions - she always listens to the inside muse. Art is a way to let go and lose herself in the fun and exciting process that delights and reveals in ever new ways.
